Menlo Soft Modern Kitchen & Dining Update

Overview

A refresh of the kitchen and dining room within an existing traditional home. The goal was to modernize the look and feel without fully replacing cabinetry or core elements.

Role and Responsibilities

Led the soft-modern redesign, selected finishes and paint colors, and oversaw refinements that updated the spaces without disrupting their original framework.

Challenges and Solutions

With traditional cabinetry in place, subtle interventions were key. We removed upper cabinets, added lime-washed walnut paneling, and installed a full-height honed Carrara marble backsplash. In the dining area, we deepened the color scheme using Farrow & Ball tones and reimagined an old china cabinet with painted suede-clad panels.

A subtle yet transformative update that bridges tradition and modernity through refined materials and understated interventions.
